Me and my shadow

I started out with being intrigued by my toy, but then I saw something following me...my shadow! He's a tricky little bugger to catch.

One way or another, I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha

Lately I've become intrigued with the camera, so Mom is going to have to get with the program if she wants to catch me doing anything without being camera aware. Hey, I just want to make sure I look good for my close-up!

No-go on the Mojo

Daddy and I love to watch some baseball on the sofa! However, I think the Mariners need to change their slogan from "Mojo rising" to "we stink".

Army of one

Yup, that's me doing the pseudo army crawl and getting up on my elbows and knees now and again. It's amazing how much ground I can cover doing this!

This little kiddie went to market

Lately I've been riding IN the grocery cart like a big boy since I have outgrown my infant car seat. (For all of you germ-o-phobes, fear not, they have sanitizing wipes next to the carts.) I have a much better view from here. It's amazing how many more things I can grab from this spot, too!

You don't know Jack

My nanny, Christina, and I had a great time playing with my Jack-in-the-box yesterday! On Friday I was playing with it with Mom, and I thought Jack was hilarious. Yesterday, however, I was intent on trying to figure out how to put him back in his box. That's what he gets for surprising me like that!

Cookie Monster!

Can someone please explain the big deal about cookies? As far as I can tell, it's a magazine for impossibly skinny moms in their 30s with too much time and money on their hands. Yeah, I'm not sure why Mom subscribes to that one.

Oh, you say there is another kind of cookie? Sugar is involved? Hmmm...what is this sugar you speak of? It'll keep me up for hours? Sounds intriguing!

Freaky Friday

Today I discovered making a new, funny face by sucking my cheeks in!

Flipping my lids

I love playing with my lids and cups after I eat my yummies. I like to flick the lids and then scoot everything around on my highchair tray like they are hockey pucks. Also, in the past couple of days I have figured out how to bang them together to make some great noise! As always, you can click on my picture to make it bigger!

Petal power

Mom and I were on our way out to the grocery store when we noticed what a pretty carpet of petals our neighbors' cherry trees had left on their lawn. So of course Mom had to run back in the house, get the camera and proceed to take pictures until several people in the neighborhood stopped to ooh and ahh over me. I hope she is enjoying this now, because this kind of attention is so not going to fly when I'm 16.

By the way, Mom would have worked more with sitting me up, but I started grabbing the petals and trying to put them in my mouth, which maybe wasn't such a good idea. I'll have to wait til I'm a little bigger and then maybe I can at least try dandelion greens in a salad.

Table for seven

Last Friday we went to dinner at the Woods' house where we saw Kara, Matt, Charlotte and Ryan. I had a great time meeting my new little amigos...they were very nice to share some toys with me, so I think I'd like to hang out with them again!

I'm strong to the finish when I eats me spinach

Yes, Popeye would be proud of me. I really took to my first tastes of spinach! Unfortunately our house smells like a big toot since mom steamed the green stuff for me. Oh well, a small price to pay for big muscles. Oh, and you can see here, I really do have two teeth. I think a top one might be trying to come in because I've been a little grumpy the past few days.

How does your garden grow?

Today Mom and I went to the Japanese Gardens and met up with Sarah and her daughter Zoe. We had a nice walk around, and I particularly enjoyed seeing the ducks! We think we missed part of it though, so we'll have to go back.

My first date

Today I had a date for a walk with my little girlfriend Dori Lu. She's seven months old, so she's an older woman. I tried to play footsie with her and I wanted to eat her pants. She had to go home shortly thereafter. Maybe I was a little too aggressive.

Also, for all of you KU fans out there, I'll have you note that although Mom will probably be taken out by the Carolina mafia, she tried to appease the KU mafia by making a peace offering, by offering an olive branch of sorts, if you will. In this the week of the meetup between the two great basketball schools, I'm wearing my neato KU suit that Great Grandma sent to me! Although I love it very much, you'll see me in some Carolina gear at the end of the week. And I guess to keep Dad happy, I'll have to sport some Arizona wear...at least they won the NCAA swimming championships. As always, click on the picture to make it bigger!

Running the floor

I'm officially past the potted plant phase, as Mom's good friend Beth calls it. In other words, forget putting me down and expecting me to be in the same place. I love rolling all over the place for the toy that I want. I also enjoy rolling myself up in my blankie...just call me a baby burrito!

Look out Mark Spitz!

Mr. Spitz, I'm coming after your record! I've got a little ways to go, but once I'm done with "the kids in the pool go round and round, round and round" game, I'm all about the medals. I think I'll be ready for the 2012 games.

Sips up, dude!

Well, now that I'm six months old, I've started to use a sippy cup. I didn't like the first kind the parentals gave to me, so we're on to the second brand and that's working better. I'm starting to get the hang of it although I'm not quite sure about water in my mouth. It's definitely not as flavorful, or as fragrant, as formula!

Something fishy going on...

Today, mommy and I met our friends, Beth and Sarah, and their kiddos, Jack and Zoe, for lunch at the Fish Club. Our friend Gail was there, too! It was my first adventure in a restaurant high chair, but in the end, I thought Mom's lap was more comfy.

Toys R Us

Check out the sampling of the rad collection of toys that I have! I've finally figured out that my tummy is a cool place to be, but now I'm annoyed that I can't quite get anywhere yet. I'll have to ask Mom and Dad if I can watch some old Rambo movies to help me figure out the army crawl.

Oh, some new stats for you guys. I'm 19lbs. 14oz. and 27-3/4 in. long. Woooohooo! I got some more shots yesterday, so I've been feeling a little funky, plus I've got a tiny cold. I'm on the mend though!

Thank you, Easter bunny!

The Virginia Easter bunny sent me a great basket filled with goodies...some cool shoes, a pop-up book, bath toys and more! I loved it all and the crinkly wrapping, too. :) Thank you Grandma and Granddaddy!

Don't get too excited....I haven't quite mastered sitting up...right after Mom took this, I fell over backwards, but I'm not any worse for the wear...

Sheet music

Today is a nasty, rainy Easter Sunday, so we're stuck inside, which is kind of good since we got to do one of my favorite things! Mom turned on some tunes and we played in our sheet fort! I love it so much, I just giggle and giggle. Hopefully the rain will let up and we can go for a walk later! Oh, and as always, just click on my picture to see me up close!

Teething is berry good!

I've got 2 teeth now that arrived basically at the same time...March 1. I'm pretty good at hiding them from the camera, even when I smile, but here I am working on getting some more! Note the fabulous drool sheen on my chin.

Future Abercrombie and Fitch model

Hey, I've gotta get my man-of-steel look down if I'm going to take that job seriously. By the way, you will be seeing more posts from me than you have been since Mom is going to start working some wacky schedule so she can spend more time with me. She will be working 6a-10p on Saturdays and Sundays, but she'll have Monday through Friday off....wheeeee! More trips to museums, parks, the aquarium, etc. are in store! Hint, hint...I think we're going to get to go to the Japanese gardens in the next week or two since the cherry blossoms should be out by then!

Granny J in da house

Granny J came for a visit last week, too. We had a fun time...I can't believe the last time I saw her was January! I'd changed so much!

Animals are grrrrrrrreat!

We went to the zoo last weekend and had a fun time even though the clouds and cool weather kept most of the animals in their snugly spots. I liked watching the gorillas eat their poo, but that was about it since I had a hard time spotting some of the harder to see critters. We don't have any pictures of that since mom didn't bring her flash along...you would have either seen me, or the gorillas, but not both. That tiger was pretty quick about going in and out of the grass.

Not sleeping with the fishes

After my nap, Mom and Dad took me to the Seattle aquarium. It was way cool! We saw starfish, sea urchins, sea anemones, an octopus, lots of fish, sea lions and more! I'm so excited since Daddy got us a year-long membership to the aquarium AND the zoo...we're gonna have so much fun. Thanks, Dad!

Best seat in the house

I've moved on to the high chair...it's actually the one that Mom used when she was a little gummer, and it was old before she was around, so you KNOW it's old, old, old now.

Show boat

Greetings all! I'm finally back online...Mom's laptop is busted, and she has gone back to work, so I've been struggling to post since she helps me out. Anyway, a few weeks ago, our good buddy, Jerry Wooley, brought one of the gorgeous sportsman boats over to a big show at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, so we went to go see him (and his cool ride for the water).

I said no more pictures!

I'm not a big fan of the Enquirer, OK, Hello! or People magazine...so you better hadn't let my picture end up in there!

Hanging by a thread

Ok, so I'm not hanging by a thread, but by many threads! Can you believe this contraption is actually relatively comfortable? We go for a walk every morning and afternoon if the weather is good.

Eat, drink and be merry?

Mom and I went to a Moms' Valentine's Day potluck the other day with about 40 mothers and their babies. As you can see, I wasn't feeling very social.
